Shinji Shimojo has been a Professor with the Cybermedia Centerat Osaka University since 1998, and he is the director of the Center. He was an executive researcher and a director of Network Testbed Research and Development Promotion Center at National Institute of Information and Communications Technology from 2008 to 2011. His current research work is focusing on a wide variety of multimedia applications, peer-to-peer communication networks, ubiquitous network systems,and IoT systems. He is a founding member of PRAGMA and CENTRA.
Topic:Designing Future Society for Our Lives – Towards Expo 2025 and Society 5.0
Abstract: To live a healthy life by sharing and utilizing data to enrich people’s lives. That’s what Society 5.0 is all about. Various research and development are carried out all over the world. Here, after the brief introduction of APAN-JP, the challenge of data utilization in the Institute for Life Design Innovation of Osaka Univ. is introduced and how it is connected to the Exposition in 2025. And, To realize this, the expectation for network technology is also described.
